Ndi Igbo Buru’Otu Association Marks Birthday Month with Grand Celebration,As August Celebrants Shines.

The Ndi Igbo Buru’Otu Association of Nigeria celebrated its August-born members in a grand style on August 2, 2025, at its Secretariat in Ijegun, Lagos State.

The event featured the donation of gifts, including trophies, waste baskets, party tables, serving plates, and more, by the celebrants.

The Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun/Ijedodo,Eze Chika Nwokedi, stated that he decided to mark the birthday so as to thank and appreciate God for His blessings and guidance over the years.

Eze Nwokedi, highlighted his personal connection to the month of August, citing his birthday on August 4th and other significant life events that occurred in August, noting that the month of August is unique

“The month of August is considered a lucky month for me following my special moments including my date of birth on August 4th,I made Lagos my dwelling place August 8, 1992, wedded my lovely wife Ugoeze Pst. MrsTessy Chika Nwokedi on August 25, 2002,became the Chairman of Ladipo on August 14th,got my first award on August 29th from the Nigeria Police,had my first contract with the Nigerian Police on August 27th and payment was made on the following year on August 7th, August 4, 2023.

“I dedicated my new house, on August 8, 2023 and commissioned my palace as Ezendigbo Ijegun Ijeododo and the list goes on.” he said.

Members and guests affirmed Eze Chika’s concept for the association is unique and worth emulating, as it gives rise to dynamism and viable change.

Several senior officers of the Nigeria Police, executives, and members of the Igbo-speaking community, friends and well wishers honored the occasion to commemorate with Eze Chika Nwokedi and co-celebrants from his founded association of 10 years.

Investigator news reports that dignitaries, including Chief Sunday Ude, President General of the Igbo Speaking Community Lagos,High Chief Sunday Eze,top Senior officers, members of the speaking community,Ugoeze Pst. (Amb) Tessy Chika Nwokedi, wife of Eze Chika Nwokedi, praised the August celebrants for their special qualities and charitable nature.

Chief Sunday Ude, the President General of the Igbo Speaking Community Lagos, wishes all the celebrants of the association, especially its founder, who’s also an August-born, many more years in good health.

According to the chief, Sunday Ude, he described the chief celebrant, Eze Chika Nwokedi,as a foremost philanthropist, who cherishes touching the lives of the people and prayed God to give him long life and prosperity.

Lending his voice,former president of the Igbo speaking community,Chief Sunday Eze, described Eze Chika Nwokedi as a good leader and a philanthropist and wished him many more years of greatness and fulfilment.

The wife of the celebrant,Ugoeze Pst. (Amb) Tessy Chika Nwokedi, describe her husband as the man of the people who shows people love wherever he goes.

She opined  that many destinies are tied to his help and assistance for their fulfilment of purpose, while praying that he lives a healthy life as he must be alive to ensure they are catered for, especially the widows and less privileged in the society.

She went further to expresses gratitude to everyone who sends well wishes to the celebrant, prays for her husband’s longevity, and asks for greater grace, wealth, and wisdom to lead. She also sends her best wishes to all the other August celebrants.

One of the August celebrants,Chief Mrs. Chizoba Charity Okorie,said that August-born are special in character, thinking, lifestyle, selfless service, and uniqueness.

She called on every individual to imbibe the spirit of giving despite the economic situation facing the country, noting that the celebrants donated gifts to members to spread love and happiness.

The event which is aimed to promote unity and showcase the unique characteristics of those born in August as the association introduced new concepts, including trophies and cash prizes for the best-celebrated month of the year.

Speaking with newsmen,Eze Chika Nwokedi revealed that circumstances around his birth and various antecedents show how special he considers the month of his birth. He mentioned that August celebrants donated three trophies and other gift items to show love and significance.

The gifts included 5 pieces of waste baskets, 10 party tables, 196 serving plates, 96 golden spoons, 6 basins, 70 branded caps, 70 pieces of 6-yard cloth (Ankara), and 70 bags of rice in 10 kg, 25 kg, and 50 kg, respectively.

He explained that those born in August decided to move the birthday celebration in the association to the next level by presenting three cups for competition among those born in other months and at the end of the year, the association will present the cups to the winners with tag prizes for 1st position N150, 000 second position N100,000 and N50,000 for third position.He noted that the August celebrants donated gift items worth millions of naira just to celebrate this day

Nwokedi who is the Chairman of Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State,sue for peace among Nigerians, stating that there is need for Nigerians to avoid violence, live in peace and harmony, noting that it is the only way to move forward in Nigeria.

” My message to all Nigerians and members of Igbo Buru Otu is for them to be law abiding citizen,this country would be good one day”

” Let us learn to love one another, preaching peace and eschewing evil,I hate where there is no peace because I am a man of peace, therefore let peace be our watchword. What ever good you do today,I want to let you know that God will pay you back in hundred fold”

He added that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the president of Nigeria, cannot do it all by himself and urged the president’s cabinet, including the senators of the upper and lower chambers, the ministers, the governors, and all in power as assigned, to assist the president in making well-informed decisions that will advance the country.

” Also let us continually pray for our leaders especially President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,so that God will grant them wisdom to lead this country  because he cannot do it alone””he submitted.

In the same vein,the association 10 man committee where they were given the mandate to ensure that the secretariat is roofed.

Members of the committee include High Chief Owo Anthony Ben(Chairman), Chief Chibueze Obi(Vice Chairman),Mary Asuzu (Secretary) and others.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of gift items to members of the association which include bags of rice,wrappers and caps to show love to the members, cutting of the cake,dance and a happy moments of the celebrants.
