As part of its efforts to eradicate polio virus,measles,human papilloma virus and yellow fever completely in lsolo LGA,the Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA,Hon Olasoju Adebayo, on Tuesday 21, October 2024 embarked on sensitization walk.
It will be recalled that the Council authority had on Saturday 19th October flagged off the massive vaccination exercise in conjunction with Lagos State Health District VI and Primary Healthcare Board, the exercise which includes Oral Polio and Measles Vaccination for children below 5 years, Human Palliomavirus Vaccine for age 9 to 14 years as well as Yellow Fever Vaccination for age 9 to 44 years is ongoing across the seven Primary Healthcare Centres subsisting in the council area as well other public places.

Hon Olasoju, who was joined by the Council’s Medical Officer of Health (MOH), Dr. Anne Okonma as well as the Vice Chairman and Supervisor for Health, Hon. Shakir Adeola alongside other top council officials maximised the Tuesday market day of Aswani Int’l Market where the council helmsman harped on the importance of the vaccination which are aimed at effectively curtailing the deadly diseases.
Speaking further, Olasoju, dressed in crested apron as his teeming entourage, cleared the various leftist remarks about the vaccines adding that they are safe for human health, urging those within the eligibility age-bracket to make the most of free exercise.
“We’ve come to inform you about the ongoing mass vaccination exercise against four deadly viruses like Polio, measles, yellow fever and Human Papillomas Virus because your health is important to us.”
“The vaccination is to immune you against these diseases and we urge you to make the most of this free exercise. Visit our PHCs or anywhere you see the designated health officials going about. It’s safe and healthy.”
“Please, tell someone to tell somebody that the vaccination is ongoing and it will run through Saturday 2nd November,” Olasoju who spoke in a mixture of Yoruba and English passionately announced.
The council boss after his address performed a symbolic non-skill-requiring indelibly staining of the left thumb of a vaccinated trader to the admiration of health workers at the duty-post and bystanders as well.
Earlier, the council boss hosted the leadership and members of Ward Health Committee Alliance across the Oshodi-Isolo LGA tasking them on the need to further domesticate the awareness exercise at the grassroots.
