The Member Representing Oshodi/lsolo 2 Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon.Okey Joe Onuakalusi on Wednesday,28, August,2024 laid foundation for the building of a new block of classrooms at Gbeleyi primary school, lshagatedo,lsolo Lagos.
Speaking during the foundation laying ceremony of the project,Hon( Bar) Okey Joe highlighted the significance of education and infrastructure development in the community, emphasizing the importance of providing a conducive learning environment for the pupils.
The lawmaker who was ably represented by his special Assistant in Politics, Chief John Uche stated that Education is the real passport to the future, stating that tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today as an investment in knowledge pays the best interest
Chief Uche went further to state that the construction of a new block of classrooms will ease overcrowding and provide a better learning environment for pupils.While laying the foundation stone, the lawmaker promised to support the school in making sure the children gets the best quality education, assuring them of his commitment of completing the project within few months.
” I want to assure you that with the laying of foundation today,pupils that will learn under this classroom would be leaders of tomorrow, they would be another Okey Joe,Peter Obi,Ngozi Okonjo lweala,Wole Soyinka and others as they will graduate from here to secondary education and thereafter to the university,the world would here about them,they would be celebrated and cherished by individuals “he stated.
Investigator news reports that Hon Okey Joe Onuakalusi has made tremendous and positive impact by giving out scholarship to pupils and students, organized health programmes through medical outreach, installed water projects in various community and giving out palliatives to the vulnerable among other projects.
Responding the school community expressed gratitude to Hon Onuakalusi for his support and generosity,commending the lawmaker for embarking on the project and looks forward to the completion of the project.
They said,“This is the type of contribution that encourages the people to nominate one for another term. You have done well and our God almighty will continue to guide you,”they submitted.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the school’s development,as the event was well attended by dignitaries, members of Labour party,the Special Adviser on Media and Communication,Mazi Chuks Nwosu,school administrator, teachers, and members of the community.
