The Eze Ndigbo of Alimosho Local government area of Lagos state,Eze Dr Lawrence Eze has reiterated its call peace, unity and understanding between the Yoruba and Igbo in the state.
Eze Lawrence stated this when he played host to Oluwo of lkotun land,Akinrogun of lgando land and Apena of Lagos state in his palace, saying that unity and tolerance among the Igbos in the state became imperative as “nothing could be successfully achieved without unity.”
The revered monarch went further to state that he was happy that the Igbo and other ethnic communities are living in peace in Alimosho and called for more understanding in terms of peace, unity and progress of the community.
Eze Lawrence who is the Chairman Supreme Council of Ndieze Ndigbo in Lagos state noted that traditional festivals like Isese day play a vital role in preserving and promoting the heritage, identity, and values of the yoruba community,as they safeguard the intangible cultural heritage, including music, dance, and oral traditions, passing them down to future generations.
“I want to extend my warmest felicitations to our revered traditional rulers, traditional religious faithful, and custodians of the yoruba customs and traditions on the occasion of the 2024 Isese day Celebration.”
“Our LCDA is blessed with a rich cultural heritage, customs, and traditions that have immense potential for tourism promotion,cultural and educational exchange,Identity reinforcement,fostering social cohesion and conveying values, myths, and history and the bond will continue to be stronger.”

Eze Dr Lawrence Eze who is known as the custodian of culture and traditions expressed deep respect for the traditions and customs of Lagos State,praised the dedication of those who have worked tirelessly to keep the rich heritage alive, noting that by celebrating Isese day, they ensure a brighter future for generations to come, honoring the memories of forebears and promoting cultural diversity.
Lending his voice,Eze Ambassador Peter Ifeanyi Asonye,Eze Ndigbo of Ibeju Lekki LCDA,who was a special guest thanked the yoruba community for accommodating the lgbos in their land and given them the opportunity to excel in their endeavors.
Eze Asonye opined that the yoruba traditions are not just the echoes of the past, but the foundation of our collective progress, noting that cords of our heritage foster unity and drive Lagos forward,he stated.
The Oluwo of lkotun appreciated the Eze Ndigbo for hosting the yoruba community in his palace, stating that the bond between the lgbos and the yoruba community would continue to be strong as they would ensure that peace and unity is their watchword.
Highlight of the event was dance drama,display by the Egungun religion worshippers whose masquerades displayed to the admiration of the dignitaries.
