It was an atmosphere of encomiums as children, family members, friends and well-wishers rolled out drums to celebrate the 70th birthday of Obafemi Olumide Adekunle in ljebu Ode,Ogun State in a grand style.
The event which took place at the residence of the celebrant on the 10th of August,2024,attracted dignitaries, royals, family members, friends of the celebrant and well-wishers from across the nation, who came to show-stopping tribute to Obafemi Adekunle enduring legacy.
Obafemi Adekunle was described as a man of impacts whose life has changed stories of many positively.
While speaking with journalists at the reception,the Ogun State Youth Leader of New Nigeria Peoples Party,Honourable Funso Jide Adekunle who was in company with his Executive Assistant (EA) Engr .Eedris Gbagba, the State Organizing Secretary NNPP Ijebu Ode Local Government and Micheal Amos from NNPP Ijebu North/East Local Government describe the celebrant as epitome of love,one who has a compassionate and loving heart.
“Mr Obafemi Olumide Adekunle who happens to be my uncle is a builder; he encouraged and supported my Political aspiration till today, even while growing up my uncle supported my education financially. When my parents died we didn’t feel their absence much because my uncle stood by me and my other siblings,he has been a source of inspiration to us all.”
“We really appreciate him and we pray that God will grant him long life and sound health and that God will continue to help him to make heaven at the long run after his quality life.”he stated
Hon Fushi as he is fondly called noted that the celebrant has impacted so many lives positively and people around him .Today everybody is speaking well of him, it is because he took time to disciplined himself,he is a fine gentleman.
On her part,one of his siblings,Professor (Otunba) Mrs Fadekemi Adekunle Adagbada said, “I am very happy today to celebrate my brother during his life time. My brother has been living a simple life of humility but with great impacts in all aspects of lives.He has been a very honest man and he is a peace maker,we pray for him that God will bless him with long life and prosperity.” She stated
In his goodwill message, the celebrant best friend Mr Tunde Osoja described the celebrant as a meek, humble and faithful friend of over 30 years and has been working hard to give his children the best things of life which he said is worthy of emulation.
Mr Osoja opined that the quality characters of Mr Obafemi Olumide Adekunle are worthy of emulation pray for more prosperous life ahead.
In his chat with journalists, the celebrant Mr Obafemi Olumide Adekunle described his 70 years as a long journey with different challenges saying that he had seen thick and thin in life but God saw him through.
“I thank God for the journey so far, there are challenges and hard times but God helped me and I returned all the glory to Him. Jesus made it known to us that He has overcome on our behalf.
“To the glory of God I can say that I am fulfilled and I pray that God will continue to help my children to follow the noble path of righteousness.”he submitted
The high point of the celebration was opening of dancing floor as people joined Obafemi Olumide Adekunle in giving thanks to God and cutting of the cake as guests were entertained with assorted food and drinks.
Investigator news gathered that Obafemi Olumide Adekunle was celebrated in a very unique way following his Philanthropy nature of assisting people around him, among those who celebrated him include his siblings; Professor (Otunba) Mrs Fadekemi Adekunle Adagbada, Mrs Ibitomi Adesola Adekunle Adegbuyi, Reverend Yomi Segun Adekunle, Mrs Adedoyin Adekunle Ayedun, Pastor Adedolapo Adekunle and other family members.
