The Mayor of Isolo, Olasoju Adebayo has hailed the youths and entire residents of the council area for maintaining peace in the face of the nationwide hunger protest.
Hon Olasoju, in a press statement signed by Chief Press Secretary, Rasheed lskilu, Friday,2nd August,2024, noted that major and remote communities in the council area remained habitually peaceful as residents shun the protest that has grounded socioeconomic activities in some states.
“It is with immense pleasure that I commend our youths and the residents of our council area in their entirety for heeding my passionate appeal for continued belief in the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government. While protests were held in some states yesterday and even today, Lagos especially our council area has enjoyed the usual tranquility underscoring the uncommon level of patriotism and resilience of our people.
“Without being economical with the truth, the unintended adversity inherent in the important economic reforms of Mr President has spared no one but as a people we have shown that we take solace in the assurance of lasting light that lies at the end of the tunnel,” the statement read in part.
Olasoju went further to appreciate the leadership and members of the community development committee, leaders of the religious bodies, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) among other formidable structures in the council for ensuring that the serenity of the council area was not compromised or tampered with in the name of protest.
In the same vein, he extended his words of commendation to the head of the five police divisions In the council area as well as other security operatives for their alertness.
He concluded by calling for continued support and prayer for President Tinubu assuring that Isolo LCDA under his qualitative leadership will continue to undertake human-centric programs to complement the strives of the federal and state governments and ultimately make life more abundant for the residents
