The Member representing Isu State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Emeka Kingsley Ozurumba has reacted to the on-going payment of gratuities to Imo State retirees by His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, The Executive Governor of Imo State.
Hon Ozurumba went further to commend the Governor for taking the bold step in ensuring that the senior citizens who were abandoned by past administrations are now being taken care of, through payment of their gratuities.
The exercise which is tailored to favour retirees from the year 2006 in the meantime and whose gratuities are below #2M (two million naira) is expected to continue with people whose gratuities are above #2M.
The Lawmaker who is also the House Committee Chairman On Labour/Productivity, Civil Service And Pension said, “His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, our amiable governor, remains a man with great passion, zeal and commitment, who aims at putting smiles on the faces of the downtrodden.”
“His pattern, system and method of administration negates unfounded criticisms, rather wide acceptance in the public domain. He has a penchant in impacting positively on the lives of mankind and this ,he has keenly demonstrated by extending this show of love to these retirees, who mostly, depend on drugs for their daily survival. For this move, I commend the Governor.”
I doff my hat for His Excellency for a continued practical application of the tripartite vision of the present administration that hinges on Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery. Imo retirees are being rehabilitated, among other commendable programmes”.he submitted.
