Buhari laments troops killed in Niger
In response to the deaths of numerous soldiers who were murdered in an ambush and subsequent chopper accident in Niger State, the former president Muhammadu Buhari expressed his sorrow.
Both ambush attacks and an evacuation helicopter crash claimed the lives of 36 personnel, according to Defence Headquarters.
Buhari also expressed his condolences to President Bola Tinubu over the tragedy in a statement released on Saturday and signed by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu.
The horrific ambush in which we lost our heroic army soldiers was followed by the helicopter mishap, which makes me sad. The grieving families are in my thoughts. I’m hoping for a speedy recovery for those who were hurt.
“Please accept my sincere sympathies to the President, @officialABAT, the Federation Armed Forces, and the families of the departed.

The former President asserted that “it is only a matter of time before they overcome with the soldier-discipline in our forces.” – #Security
