Ismaila Konga, a former Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), has been kidnapped in the state of Nasarawa by armed men whom authorities suspect are kidnappers.
On Monday evening, Konga was abducted along with two other people while he was traveling from Akwanga town, the administrative center of Akwanga Local Government Area, to his rural home in Andaha, where he lives with his family. The abduction took place while Konga was traveling from Akwanga town to Andaha.
A member of the victim’s family has revealed to the media that the assailants gathered their victims at a roadblock that they set up on the Akwanga-Jos federal highway, which is located between Ningo village and Andaha.

“At approximately four in the morning today (Tuesday), the kidnappers made contact with our family and provided our brother with a phone so that he could communicate with us. “He was trying to tell us that they are demanding 2 million naira, but we overheard his abductors in the background saying that they will not collect 2 million naira,” he said. “He was trying to tell us that they are demanding 2 million naira.”
DSP Ranham Nansel, who serves as the Spokesperson for the Nasarawa State Police Command, has confirmed that the incident took place.
Nansel, on the other hand, responded by saying, “I do not have these details, but I will revert as soon as I get it.”
