Buhari has returned from a two-day trip to Abu Dhabi.

President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Abuja on Saturday evening after a two-day visit to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Along with members of his entourage, he left Nigeria on Thursday and arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Saturday around 4 p.m.

While in Abu Dhabi, President Buhari met with the UAE’s new President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and expressed his and Nigeria’s condolences on the death of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the former president and ruler of Abu Dhabi.
Buhari also participated in Friday’s Jummah prayers, which included prayers for the late UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s soul.

President Buhari expressed his and Nigeria’s condolences on the death of late President Sheikh Khalifah and congratulated the new President on his election during a brief meeting with Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, the new President of the UAE.

President Buhari expressed the hope that, under Sheikh Mohamed’s leadership, the two countries will continue to champion a vision of long-term security, strengthen counter-terrorism cooperation, facilitate trade and investment, and promote prosperity and development.

Amb. Zubairu Dada, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, and Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, accompanied President Buhari.

Maj. Gen. Mohammed Monguno (retd), the National Security Adviser, and Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, were also part of his delegation.
