Olanrewaju James, aka Baba Ijesha, a troubled Nollywood actor, was found guilty on Thursday by an Ikeja Special Offenses Court of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old minor.
Since his arrest and arraignment in June 2021, Baba Ijesha’s rape trial has lasted more than 12 months.
Baba Ijesha has been embroiled in a messy rape trial since April 22, 2022 for allegedly sexually assaulting Princess’ 14-year-old foster daughter.
Baba Ijesha was found guilty of indecently treating a child, sexual assault, and attempted sexual assault by the judge Oluwatoyin Taiwo on Thursday after a two-hour trial.
She then gave him a concurrent sentence of 16 years in prison.
He was found not guilty of counts one and six, which were sexual assault by penetration and attempted sexual assault by penetration, respectively, by Mrs. Taiwo.
The case was temporarily put on hold for the outlaw’s sentencing at the time this report was submitted.
Between 2013 and 2014, Baba Ijesha was found responsible for the indecent treatment and sexual assault of a minor.
Proceeding
The prosecution successfully demonstrated counts two and four, according to the court, proving that he indecently held her on his lap and touched her body with his penis.
In addition, he was found responsible for four offences.
Seven years later, he was charged with rubbing her body and sucking her fingers while sexually assaulting the same minor.
However, the judge acquitted him of count one, in which he was accused of sexually assaulting the minor by penetrating him with his car key seven years prior.
In count 6, in which he was charged with attempting a sexual assault by penetration during a subsequent encounter with the minor in April 2021, the court also found him not guilty,
