As momentum for the 2023 general election builds, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, has delayed the formal introduction of Senator Kashim Shettima, a former governor of Borno State, to the APC leadership as his substantive running mate.
It was learned that Shettima’s official unveiling has been postponed. The event was scheduled to take place today (Thursday) at 1 PM at the APC secretariat in Abuja.
The decision, which was made in the midst of controversy over the party’s selection of a Muslim-Muslim ticket, was not explained.
With one day left until the INESC deadline, there are rumours that Tinubu and the APC leadership may think about withdrawing Shettima from the race and choosing a Northern Christian (INEC).
A new date will likely be revealed later, in the interim.

More to come…
