Elder Chidi Wihioka, a former member of the House of Representatives and APC chieftain, has resigned from the party.
This came only 24 hours after Dame Ibim Semenitari, the former acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, resigned from the party.
Wihioka, a close ally of Senator Magnus Abe, represented the Ikwerre/Emuoha Federal Constituency in the National Assembly’s green chamber.
His resignation was contained in a letter addressed to the APC chairman in his ward (Elele Ward 3) in Rivers State.
In the letter, Wihioka stated that his decision to leave the party was motivated by the arrogance of one man who believes he owns the party.
“I wish to officially inform you of my resignation from the All Progressives Congress, APC,” the statement said.

The recent flurry of defections from prominent politicians, the majority of whom served in various capacities at the state and national levels under Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi as governor, has alarmed politicians and others.
Other well-known politicians in the state who have recently left the party include Dr. Dawari George, a former member of the House of Representatives, and Golden Chioma, a former member of the State House of Assembly.
