All presidential candidates would be unable to win the 2023 elections without the support of the youths, according to Henrich Akomolafe, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for Ekiti South federal constituency 1.
He also emphasised that youths were the only forces capable of bringing about change in the country.
Akomolafe, 29, stated on Sunday that without the youths, there will be no election in 2023.
As a result, he urged every presidential candidate to mobilise youths in order to ensure free, fair, and credible elections.
According to him, no matter what some politicians think about the upcoming elections, no godfatherism can save them unless they carry the youths along with them.
“We’ve seen where the youths of Nigeria are thrown away after elections without fulfilling the promises they made during electioneering,” he said. This time would be different. They would protect their votes and elect the most credible candidates to power in 2023.
“I’m running because my constituents thought I was worthy of representing them in the National Assembly, and that’s why I was given the opportunity to represent them in my constituency.”
I believe that youths have been underserved, and at my age, I will be the youngest lawmaker to represent my people in Abuja.
