Vadym Liakh, mayor of the Ukrainian city of Sloviansk, has urged residents to flee for their lives.
According to CNN, the mayor issued a warning to residents to evacuate as Russian troops approached the city.
On Thursday, Russian forces attacked the city, injuring six people, two of whom are in “serious condition.”
“At 11 a.m. today, the enemy launched multiple rocket launchers at the city of Sloviansk.
“Two cluster shell explosions happened in a densely populated neighbourhood, near a supermarket and a bus stop,” Liakh told Ukrainian broadcaster Espreso TV.

“The shelling is still going on. “The enemy is close,” he added.
