Osun 2022: ‘Davido shedding crocodile tears over vote-buying’
On Friday, young people affiliated with The Osun Young Professionals Network claimed that Afrobeat superstar David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, was lying about his opposition to vote-buying in the run-up to the July 16th, 2022, Osun governor election.
When the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Abiodun Oyebanji, won the Ekiti guber election, Davido, a cousin of PDP candidate Senator Ademola Adeleke, responded, he said, “Nobody can buy Osun voters.”
In the meantime, the PDP candidate who is Davido’s cousin boasted in public that he has the dollars, pounds, euros, and naira necessary to pursue his ambition to become the state’s governor in 2022, according to Wale Bakare, the convener of the youth professionals in technology and entrepreneurship.
“It is ridiculous that the same family that boasted about buying votes is now raising a red flag about vote-buying. Davido is merely crying crocodile tears and raising a phony alarm about vote-buying. He stated that young people in the state oppose buying votes in the Osun State governor election.
Bakare continued, “We have a role to play in the growth and development of our beloved State, and one of our duties is to make sure that Our State is governed by someone who has the necessary character and competence. This is due to the fact that governance is a serious endeavor that cannot be left in the care of amateurs and opportunists. Adegboyega Oyetola, the governor, is still the best candidate, in our opinion.
