Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, a fiery Enugu Catholic Priest, has apologised and prayed for Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.
After declaring that Peter Obi could never be President of Nigeria, Mbaka apologised.
He recently stated at the Adoration Ground that unless God ceases to exist, Obi will never smell the President’s seat, adding that it is preferable to have an old man as President than a’stingy young man.’
Nigerians reacted angrily to the Catholic priest’s remark, accusing him of hating Peter Obi for refusing to donate to his church.
However, in a statement signed by him, the cleric stated that he did not intend to defame His Excellency, Peter Obi’s image, but rather to pray for him.
As a result, he expressed regret to Peter Obi and his supporters and prayed for God’s blessing on them.
“I thank God for His incalculable and favourable blessings, miracles, love, and life for the Adoration Ministry in Enugu, Nigeria.”
I assure God’s people and Nigerians that I am praying for good governance and leadership in this country, and that God will provide us with leaders who have His heart in their hearts.
“As things stand, Nigeria faces indescribable insecurity challenges, an incalculable unemployment crisis, massive corruption, heinous crimes, and unfathomable suffering caused by bad leadership.” In this trying time, I bear with my fellow countrymen and women. I implore God’s adorers and all of God’s people to join hands in praying that God will deliver us from the devil’s and his agents’ schemes.
“I am a servant of God, and my purpose is not to defame His Excellency, Peter Obi’s image, but to pray for him.” May God’s plan for his life come to pass. I pray to the God I serve to provide good and excellent leaders for our beloved people who will care for them and lead them to the promised land. I will support whoever God chooses as our leader. In this vein, I send my best wishes to His Excellency Peter Obi and his supporters, as well as the other candidates and their supporters, all of whom have the same goal of providing Nigeria with good leaders. If my words have offended Mr Peter Obi’s supporters in any way, or if they have misunderstood me in any way, I ask for their forgiveness and understanding.
“I pray that all goes well for my people as a servant of the Most High God.” I am a strong believer in good governance, equity, love, and godliness. I pray for peace, love, and anything else that will bring blessings and favour to our people and our suffering teaming youths at this time when our people are passing through valleys of shadows of death (Ps23.4). In all your troubles, I will always be there for you. God will look after you and miraculously bless you for my sake.
“I have no intention of fighting or slandering Mr. Peter Obi.” He is and will continue to be my friend and brother, and I adore him and wish him the best of luck. May God continue to bless him and all of his supporters. In his political endeavours, God’s will is done. (Mk.14:36)
“The youths for whom I am praying, sacrificing, fighting, speaking, and working are the same youths for whom I am praying, sacrificing, fighting, speaking, and working.” I can’t sleep at night because of what these young people are going through and their circumstances. This is why I hope for good governance and capable leaders to look after them. In this country, we are experiencing indescribable, unfathomable, and undeserved hardship. I’m hoping for a miracle.
“I’m not affiliated with any political party, but I believe in good governance and good people.” My preferred candidate is any good person that God can provide for us. I am a servant of God, and I ask for forgiveness if I have been misunderstood in any way for the sake of peace. I also pray for God to bless Peter Obi and for his will to be fulfilled in his life. Who can argue with God’s affirmation? Who can say “Yes” when God says “No”? Peter Obi receives my blessing and my prayers. I pray for and bless my fellow Adores. I pray for the well-being of God’s people everywhere.

May their souls, as well as the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in perfect peace, thanks to God’s mercy. Amen.”
