The Lagos State Police Command yesterday urged Lagosians not to panic in the wake of a viral WhatsApp voice message claiming that Fulanis have camped in Muhammadu Buhari Estate, Agemowo, Badagry, in preparation for a massive attack on Badagry.
According to the Command, the content of the voice-note is entirely false and maliciously designed to cause unnecessary panic in Lagos.
“It is worth noting that Morogbo Division is a Police Division close to the estate,” said the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin. Mowo Outpost is also close to the estate. The police presence and intelligence gathering in the area is excellent.

Hundeyin stated that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Morogbo visited the estate again yesterday, inspected the entire facility, and had an extensive session with the facility manager to ensure that the claims were false. The outcome of the operational visit supports the futility of the voice note.
“While all residents of Lagos State are urged to disregard the voice note, they are assured by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Abiodun Alabi, that the Police Command, in collaboration with sister security agencies, is fully prepared to nip any criminality in the bud; and would leave no stone unturned in ensuring continued peace in the state.”
