As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen public safety and security in the metropolis and across the state,the Delta State Police Command has arrested a suspect cultist/ armed robber in Asaba.
The suspect Kingsley Ugochukwu,aged 40 years was caught in Asaba on June 9, 2025, after police operatives raided a food canteen, a known hideout for cultists.
The police recovered two locally fabricated guns, including a Beretta pistol and a single-barrel gun,from the suspect and his wife.

According to the Police Public Relation Officer,SP Bright Edafe stated that the suspect on sighting the Police quickly disposed of a locally fabricated Beretta pistol which was later recovered by the operatives.
He said that during the preliminary investigation, the suspect made a suspicious call to his wife which prompted the operatives to expand the investigation.
It was later revealed that the suspect ordered his wife to check his bedroom and dispose of another long-range single barrel gun in an uncompleted building.
Investigator news reports that the Suspect’s wife was arrested and her confession led to the recovery of the other single-barrel gun.
