………As Akano commends practitioners

The immediate past Special Adviser to Imo State Governor on Secondary Education and Management Board, Hon. Ferdinand Ezeala Akano, has commended media practitioners for their contributions to the growth and development of the South East
He made this known to journalists at 2024 South East Media Summit & award ceremony held in Owerri, Imo State capital on Wednesday.
Akano, described the event as a step in the right direction especially with the regards of practice of journalism in the south east.
He appreciated the CEO Horn Group of Newspapers High Chief Bright Chimezie Njoku, says he is pioneering new era in the practicing of journalism in the state and beyond.
He expressed confidence that the summit is going to go a long way in gendering robust journalism in the southeast, even as he thanked the organisers for putting together an event of this nature and magnitude.
Akano, thanked the Imo Governor, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma for partnering with the media practitioners described him as a media friendly governor who means well for Imo State journalists.
Also speaking, Dr. Ejike Chukwu, stressed the need for private practitioners and business people to invest in the media described media as everything.
He called on media practitioners to promote the culture and everything about the Igbos on the positive line, charged journalists to start to project Imo, South East and urged them to create awareness for partnership.
Meanwhile,an awardee who spoke at the event Hon. Okenze Obinna, promised to encourage and partner with the media.
He also urged media practitioners to promote good news, Igbo culture, called on Igbo sons and daughters to ensure they bring their investment home urged them to partner with the media to foster development in the southeast.
