As politicians and political parties are jostling up for the 2027 general election, one of Lagos’s most respected grassroots leaders, Alhaji Shehu Usman SamPam, has thrown his weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) while applauding the party’s decision to reaffirm its support for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Alhaji Sampam who is the Director-General of the South-West Arewa Community for Asiwaju 2027 and a prominent member of the Lagos State Markets Advisory Council, also took the opportunity to extol the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, describing him as “a visionary leader whose inclusive governance continues to touch lives across the state.”
Speaking at the Lagos State APC Stakeholders’ Forum, attended by party leaders, dignitaries, and stakeholders from across the state, Alhaji Sampam praised Governor Sanwo-Olu’s unwavering dedication to grassroots development, market reforms, and community harmony.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu has demonstrated leadership that is both people-centered and progressive,” Alh. Sampam said. “His approach to governance brings everyone on board — from traders to technocrats — and that’s why Lagos continues to lead as the model of good governance in Nigeria.”
As Coordinator of “Asiwaju for 2027,” Alh. Sampam reaffirmed the Arewa community’s total commitment to the APC, pledging to mobilize massive grassroots support to ensure victory for the party in the coming election.
“The Arewa community in Lagos and across the South West remains firmly behind President Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu,” he added.
“We will continue to strengthen unity and inclusiveness so that the success of 2023 will not only be sustained but surpassed in 2027.”
Renowned for his humility, bridge-building leadership, and deep grassroots connections, Alhaji Sampam has been instrumental in fostering harmony between the Arewa community and their host states, particularly in Lagos — a state known for its cultural diversity and economic dynamism.
