Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has urged residents of Kogi Local Government Area to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that continued support for the President is essential to sustaining economic reforms and national development.

The Governor made the appeal during a thank-you tour and inspection of ongoing projects in Kotokarfe on Sunday, where he emphasised the need for continuity in leadership at the federal level to consolidate the gains already being recorded.
Ododo commended President Tinubu for what he described as bold and transformative policies, noting that although some of the decisions may appear difficult, they are necessary steps toward long-term economic stability and sustainable growth.

He pointed to the ongoing reconstruction of the Lokoja–Abuja road as a clear demonstration of the President’s commitment to infrastructure development and improved national connectivity.
The Governor acknowledged the temporary hardship experienced by commuters, describing it as a necessary sacrifice that will ultimately deliver lasting benefits.
Ododo went further to urge the people to remain resolute in their support for the President, stressing that the success of the current administration at the federal level will translate into improved dividends of democracy for states and local communities.

Gov Ododo also expressed appreciation to the Ohimege Igu of Koto-Karfi and the people of Kogi Local Government Area for their continued support, particularly in maintaining security along the Lokoja–Koto-Karfi–Abuja road corridor.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to equitable infrastructural development across all 21 local government areas of the state.
In his remarks, the Ohimege Igu of Koto-Karfi, Dr. Seidu Akawu Salihu, commended Governor Ododo for his leadership and developmental strides, noting that improvements in security and infrastructure are being felt across the state.
He assured the Governor of the continued support of his people for government initiatives aimed at promoting peace and sustainable development.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Civil Service Commission, Hon. (Barr.) Muhammed Tanko Musa, praised Governor Ododo for aligning with the policies of President Tinubu, describing the collaboration as vital for addressing political and developmental challenges.
Similarly, the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu, reaffirmed stakeholders’ commitment to supporting both Governor Ododo and President Tinubu, noting that unity of purpose remains essential for progress.

Governor Ododo also reiterated his commitment to democratic principles, assuring that there would be no imposition of candidates in the state, while maintaining that the power to choose leaders ultimately rests with the people.
