2025: Somolu LG Chairman,Hon Salawu Dullar Present ₦10.7B Budget.

The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul-Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar,’ has presented the 2025 Appropriation Bill totaling ₦10.7 billion to the Legislative Council for consideration.
The event which was held at the newly completed Legislative Complex,had in attendance key stakeholders, including APC leaders, past council chairmen, councilors, religious and community leaders.

The budget tagged “Budget of Consolidation,” is aimed to conclude ongoing projects while avoiding debts for future administrations.
The Chairman outlined revenue streams, including ₦2.5 billion from federal allocations, ₦8 billion from VAT, and over ₦112 million from internally generated revenue.
According to him,expenditures are allocated to staff salaries, pensions, overhead costs, and impactful capital projects.
Highlighting past successes, Hon. Salawu lauded the completion of vital projects, including the Somolu Administrative Complex, Fire Service Station, and Olaleye Ultramodern Shopping Centre. Road constructions like Ariyo Close and Kalejaiye Street, alongside youth-focused ICT and skills programs, underscored his administration’s achievements.
In his address, Hon. Yomi Osunkoya, Leader of the Legislative Council, commended the administration for its transparency and impact-driven governance.
He pledged thorough scrutiny of the budget to ensure alignment with residents’ aspirations. The Council also promised oversight on fund utilization, prioritizing education, women empowerment, and economic growth.
