The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has expressed its readiness to hold the 2025 local government elections across the council areas in the state.
The commission’s boss, Justice Bola Okikiolu Ighile (rtd) gave the affirmation when she visited the chairman of Isolo LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo during a familiarisation tour of the council area on Tuesday.
Earlier before Ighile’s remarks, Olasoju expressed delight in welcoming the electoral chief and her team which included board members, permanent secretary and management team to Isolo LCDA as he leveraged the medium to, once again, congratulate the retired justice on her appointment to steer the electoral body.
Hon Olasoju relayed the earnest anticipation of contestants alike in the council area for election guidelines and modalities.
Speaking further the council boss emphasized the importance of the electoral body to the continued existence and effectiveness of Local Governments as he assured of maximum cooperation from all and sundry in the forthcoming polls.
Addressing her host, Justice Ighile affirmed that LASIEC is ready to carry out its duties assuring that the election will be free, free and credible.
She went on task the council authority on intensive voters’ education to complement the commission’s effort in eradicating or keeping voters apathy at the barest minimum.
She appreciated the council helmsman for the pleasant reception as the Council manager, Mrs. Mojisola Ogabi drew the curtain on the auspicious gathering.
Investigator news reports that the visitation was rounded up with a firsthand assessment of the commission’s office on the council premises which the electoral umpire adjudged as satisfactory given its conduciveness for the job ahead.
Other officials who joined the council boss in hosting the electoral body included the Council Treasurer, Mr. Moruf Ajiga; the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon. Sikiru Adeshina Salisu, the Chief of Staff, Hon. Musbau Quadri; among other executive and management staff.
