Following his loss in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary to former Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo declared he had “lost the battle but not the war.”
Osinbajo, on the other hand, reiterated that the ambition of a new Nigeria remains a priority for him.
On Friday, he said this at the TPP’s Abuja campaign office.
In addition, the Vice President stated that he will back Tinubu in the upcoming election.
“This is also a movement within a party; we aren’t doing anything new.”
“What’s new is that we have a clear sense that a new Nigeria is possible, and that it can be achieved through the efforts of those of us who are here.”

“We attended the convention, and the results clearly indicated that we had lost, but this was merely a fight, not a war.” There may be fights ahead, but the war for a new Nigeria will be won by us. I am confident that the war for a new Nigeria would be won by us.
“As a result, our campaign for a new Nigeria must be powerful and unwavering.” And we’ll do everything we can to keep our movement strong and stable,” Osinbajo stated.
“The dream of a new country is still alive and well,” he continued. We’ll keep in mind that what you’ve started in numerous movements and brought together is the seed that will give birth to a new nation. We both recognise that the time has come, and we will give it our all.”
