Bashir Ahmad, a former Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on New Media, has reacted to Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate Peter Obi’s growing popularity in some Northern states.
Ahmad admitted in a post on the microblogging platform Twitter that Peter Obi’s name has grown into a movement that will be difficult to overcome.
Ahmad stated that he visited Kano State over the weekend and was surprised to see so many people discussing the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.

Nobody is talking about other presidential candidates, he claims, and his friend confirms the same in Kastina.
According to the former presidential aide, Obi will likely receive 75 to 80% of the vote in Kano and Katsina states.
“Let me confess, the name Peter Obi alone is a movement to beat,” he wrote. “I was in Kano over the weekend and to my surprise, everywhere is PO, nobody is talking about other candidates anymore, and a friend told me it’s a similar story in Katsina.” In those states, LP receives 75-80% of the vote.”
