According to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, at least 1,600’repentant’ Boko Haram fighters have acquired skills and have been reintegrated into society.
Lai Mohammed, the minister of information, revealed specifically that the government had been successful in quelling the insurgency in Nigeria during his interactions with international media outlets in London.
According to Mr. Mohammed, the regime will do everything possible to combat the rising insecurity.
The minister stated that 51,000 insurgents surrendered this year alone between January and March as a result of the valiant efforts of our military. Additionally, we were able to reintegrate about 1,600 former fighters who had been able to pick up one or more trades.
The minister is in London to speak with the press and think tanks about the accomplishments the administration is making in a number of areas.
When asked about the results of his meetings with Reuters, The Economist, and The Times of London, the minister said that issues relating to security, the economy, combating corruption, and the power sector took centre stage.
Mr. Mohammed asserted that the ongoing farmers-herdsmen violence had been resolved under Mr. Buhari’s administration.
