15th Year Coronation Anniversary:Oba Nureni Akinyemi Honors Eze Nwokedi,Hon Akinsanya,Others With Community Development Award.

In celebration of his 15th Coronation Anniversary,Oba Nureni Alani Akinyemi,Olomitutu,Ilufemiloye Kudeyibu 1,Onijegun of Ijegun, bestowed a community development award to Eze Chika.C.Nwokedi, the Ezendigbo of Ijegun and Ijeododo community in recognition of his immense contribution to the progress of Ijegun land and for his philanthropic activities in the society.

The Royal gala night award which took place on Friday 23,May 2025 in Ijegun also saw the likes of Hon.Lasisi Akinsanya,Chairman Ikotun/Igando LCDA,and his Vice, Hon. Mrs. Mojisola Badmus, also being awarded for their consistent contributions to the development of the Ijegun community.

Speaking at the event,the Chairman of the 15 years coronation anniversary,High Chief Toriola Ganiu Omolaja stated that the event is created in honor of the 15th Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty Oba Nureni Alani Akinremi Olomititu Ilugefiloye kudeyibu 1,which signifies the monarch’s legacy, leadership, and unity.

He went further to state that fifteen years ago, a new chapter began in the history of Ijegun land which saw His Royal Majesty ascending the throne with grace, vision, and deep commitment to the progress of the people and since then, his reign has been marked by peace, development, and cultural renaissance.

“Tonight, we gather not only to honor that journey but also to reflect on the milestone achieved and to look ahead with renewed hope and purpose.”he said.

High Chief Toriola noted that the essence of the award was to celebrate excellence of those who has contributed immensely to the growth and development of Ijegun community, noting that the anniversary which started on the 20th of May has arrary of programs lined up to mark the 15th Year Coronation Anniversary of Oba Nuremi Alani Akinyemi,the Onijegun of Ijegun land.

“We express our heartfelt appreciation to some important personalities whose presence and support have added great honor to this occasion.”

Receiving the award, the Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun/Ijeododo community,Eze Nwokedi who was flanked by members of his palace chiefs, members of the Igbo speaking community and Ohaneze Ndigbo said that he is dedicating the award to the Igbo speaking community in Ijegun community and Lagos State in general for their faith in his leadership to guide them towards peace and advancement.

Eze Nwokedi who is also the Chairman, Council of Ndieze Lagos State described how he became a tenant in Ijegun and God’s favor enabled him to become a landlord of homes and other landed properties in the same area.

He opined that the land of ljegun has favored and blessed based on the fact that he was actively involved in community development projects like road construction, streetlight installation, security upgrades, and charitable donations.

“I entered Ijegun community as a tenant and today God has favored me,also I was involved in bringing police post to Ijegun together with Captain Akinbo, former chairman of CDA, as both of us went to Commissioner of police and he came to lay foundation together with the Oba”

” I constructed roads, provided street lights, supported security, assist the yoruba,hausa and Igbo community and this is why the land has favored me”he asserted.

Eze Nwokedi who is known for his honesty and capacity to maintain peace,foster communal developmets,assist widows,the underprivileged in the society and gained admirable reputation among the Ijegun community due to his non tribalistic to helping people,says he has prevented so many ethnic conflict between the Igbo and Yoruba tribes in time past ever since,he became the Eze Ndigbo.

Investigator news reports that the Chairman of Ikotun/Igando LCDA,who was ably represented by Hon Mukandasi Musibau described the award as a testament of his dedication and selfless service in bringing development to the people of Ikotun/Igando, while reaffirming his commitment to bring more dividends.

He congratulated Oba Nuremi Alani Akinyemi on his celebration on the throne as Oba of Ijegun community assuring him of more cordial relationship with his administration.

Investigator news gathered that other recipients of the award include Otunba Muyibi Alade Gafara,Nuremi Kazeem Olatunde,Elder Solomon Amusu, Deaconess Matron Akinpelu Florence,Mrs Nene Elijah Nimmo,Mrs Joy Obi and Engr. Adesina Nuremi.

Some of the recipients who spoke with investigator news applauded Oba Akinyemi towards his  transformation in the kingdom and has also left an indelible mark on the hearts of his subjects.

Otunba Muyibi Alade appreciated the award giving to him by the Oba of Ijegun community, stating that the award would spur him to do more.

He congratulated Oba Nuremi Alani Akinyemi as he celebrates 15 years anniversary, wishing the celebrant more fulfilling years on the throne and also prayed for more celebration of God’s goodness in his life.

Nuremi Kazeem Olatunde described the celebrant as a man of honour and great administrator, thanking God for granting the Oba excellent health and prayed to God to shower him with more healthy years on the throne of his fathers.While thanking Oba Akinyemi for the recognition as it will spur him to do more.

Also speaking Elder Solomon Amusu,in his congratulatory message highlighted the monarch’s contributions to the community.

” Kabiesi has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of his people. His legacy serves as a shining example of effective leadership, inspiring his subjects to strive for greatness,”Elder Amusu said.

Deaconess Matron Akinpelu Florence thanked the Oba for the recognition given to her, stating that this has shown that her efforts and services rendered in the community were been watched by the people.

She went further to pray for more fruitful years on the throne in good health, strength, and divine wisdom.

Lending her voice,Mr Nene Elijah stated that the award came to her as a surprise and this would spur her to do more for the community.

Nene applauded Oba Nuremi Alani Akinyemi for his selfless service to humanity, noting that he is a man of peace,a straightforward personality and one who does not discriminate, praying that he would see more years to celebrate.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of award to distinguished personalities in the community as the event attracted the likes of the Oba elect of Ijedodo community, members of the Igbo and Hausa speaking community among others.
